Torda Reeds - Oboe and Cor Anglais Reed & Cane
As a professional oboist since 1985, I have long had the problem of finding "The perfect reed"!
Torda Reeds was started with the aim of providing a high quality reed, with a friendly and personal service. I felt that there was a great need for a quality oboe reed for people who play to a good standard but do not necessarily have the time to make their own. Each reed is made to order, having first discussed your individual needs. Records are kept of all your personal preferences, enabling ease of future orders.
The name "Torda Reeds" ? It comes from my horse, "TORDITA", or "TORDA" for short!
Reeds
Each reed is made over two to three days to
monitor their consistency and prevent 'thickening up'.
Cane
Three types of cane - Alliaud, Pisoni and
Medir, and soft, medium soft and medium strengths. This is a general
guide only so please ask for a recommendation.
